Indication
Anaerobic infections including dental, protozoal infections, Helicobacter pylori.
Eradication, Skin, Trichomonal vaginitis, Bacterial vaginosis and entamoeba.
Histolytica and giardia. Metronidazole is also eective in the treatments of antibiotic-associated colitis.
It is an alternative to a penicillin for the treatment of many oral infections, where the patient is allergic to penicillin. It is the drug of first choice for the treatment of acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis.
